the kaleidoscope

Consider a multiversal causal engine encoding the complete sum of possible cause-effect relationships, simulated on a rolling basis. In a single moment, given multitudinous inputs on a scale from quantum to cosmic, a range of incremental outputs is available.

In this context, consciousness is less of a driving force shaping the local universe and more like the remote control to an analog television, flipping the conscious observer between simulated outcome paths moment to moment. The observer is neither omniscient or omnipotent, being constrained by the paths available in a given moment, but there is an apparent dialog between desire, action, and outcome — desired paths are often available (even when not obvious) and undesirable paths can be found simply by predicting and following their arc moment to moment.

In this framework, the idea of bending the universe to one's will is meaningless and the idea of "one true fated path" is illusory. All paths exist, if you seek and follow them. The singular observational constraint (one self, one life, one death) gives the impression of a single narrative thread. While the paths are many, only a single path, however winding, may be experienced.

Testing the framework is simple: interrogate your desires with each moment. What do you wish? What can be done? How does the kaleidoscope respond? Repeat.

Avoid preoccupation with outcomes you fear; they're easy to find if summoned. Note that the total scope of your influence over the causal engine is unclear - proceed with caution when it comes to matters of global importance.
